The German club have confirmed Denis Zakaria to leave Borussia Monchengladbach at the end of the 2021\/22 season and will do so as a free agent.<\/p>\n
Denis Zakaria has been linked for some time with a move away from the German side with Manchester City<\/a> and Juventus<\/a> named as two potential destinations for the rising Swiss star. On Wednesday, December 29, an official statement from Monchengladbach<\/a> stated that the player had informed them of his desire to leave. Sporting Director Max Eberl is not a man who holds back in his demands and his comments demonstrated the power he commands at the Bundesliga club, he said in the statement: “I made it clear to the lads that, by the end of this year, I want to resolve everything that doesn’t have to do with Borussia’s second half of the season. I want everyone to be fully focused on the club, the second half of the season and on turning this situation around.\u201d<\/p>\n Eberl went on to say that decisions have been made and one of those confirmed the intention of Zakaria to leave: \u201cDenis Zakaria has informed the club of his intention to leave in the summer after five years at Gladbach.\u201d<\/p>\n Pep Guardiola and Manchester City may make a move in January or next summer for the 25-year-old as they look to sign a long-term replacement for the ageing Fernandinho and he may be the defensive midfielder that Pep needs to continue his success at the Etihad.
