Anthony Elanga has signed a new Manchester United<\/a> contract, keeping him at the club until June 2026. The Old Trafford club will also have the option of extending the 19-year-old’s new deal by a further year.<\/p>\n

Elanga, a Sweden U21 international, has been a Manchester United player since he joined the club’s academy at age 12, and has made 5 senior appearances for the first-team in his fledgling career so far.<\/p>\n

Teenager is Fulfilling His ‘Ultimate Ambition’<\/h3>\n

Elanga became known to Manchester United supporters when he broke into the first-team picture last season. The left-winger scored for the club on only his second start in the Premier League, a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the 2020\/21 campaign.<\/p>\n

After putting pen to paper on his new contract, Elanga told Manchester United’s official website<\/a>: “My ultimate ambition has always been to play for Manchester United. The standard is extremely high, but this contract is another important moment in my journey.<\/p>\n

“This is the perfect environment to take the next step, with world-class players and coaches to learn from every day. I am overjoyed that the club has shown such faith in my development, and I want to thank my family and all of the staff for their ongoing support.<\/p>\n

“I know that with hard-work and dedication comes opportunity at this special club and I cannot wait to continue my progress here. Glory to God always.”<\/p>\n

According to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, Elanga’s new contract was approved by Manchester United’s interim manager Ralf Ragnick, who intends to utilise the club’s young players as a central element of his Old Trafford project. Additionally, BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone<\/a> has confirmed that the player will remain in the first-team squad for the rest of the season, despite interest from numerous clubs in a loan transfer.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Director of Football Praises Elanga’s Professionalism<\/h3>\n

Manchester United’s Director of Football, John Murtough, has had his say on Elanga signing a new deal with the club, and has spoken highly of the talented youngster’s application from an early age.<\/p>\n

Murtough said: “Anthony is a young player that we all really believe in. He has consistently impressed throughout the Academy age groups and risen to every challenge that he has faced.<\/p>\n

“Anthony is extremely dedicated; he has the work-rate and attitude to keep improving every day and succeed at Manchester United. He is yet another fantastic example of the type of player that our world-leading youth development system continues to produce.<\/p>\n

“We are thrilled that Anthony has signed this new contract, and everyone is excited to see him grow over the coming seasons.”<\/p>\n
