The Old Trafford club will also have the option of extending the 19-year-old&#8217;s new deal by a further year.<\/p>\n<p>Elanga, a Sweden U21 international, has been a Manchester United player since he joined the club&#8217;s academy at age 12, and has made 5 senior appearances for the first-team in his fledgling career so far.<\/p>\n<h2>Anthony Elanga Signs Long-Term Manchester United Contract<\/h2>\n<h3>Teenager is Fulfilling His &#8216;Ultimate Ambition&#8217;<\/h3>\n<p>Elanga became known to Manchester United supporters when he broke into the first-team picture last season. The left-winger scored for the club on only his second start in the Premier League, a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the 2020\/21 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>After putting pen to paper on his new contract, Elanga <a href=\"https:\/\/www.manutd.com\/en\/news\/detail\/anthony-elanga-signs-new-man-utd-contract-until-june-2026\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told Manchester United&#8217;s official website<\/a>: &#8220;My ultimate ambition has always been to play for Manchester United. The standard is extremely high, but this contract is another important moment in my journey.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This is the perfect environment to take the next step, with world-class players and coaches to learn from every day. I am overjoyed that the club has shown such faith in my development, and I want to thank my family and all of the staff for their ongoing support.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I know that with hard-work and dedication comes opportunity at this special club and I cannot wait to continue my progress here. Glory to God always.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FabrizioRomano\/status\/1474398503619239937\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, Elanga&#8217;s new contract was approved by Manchester United&#8217;s interim manager Ralf Ragnick, who intends to utilise the club&#8217;s young players as a central element of his Old Trafford project. Additionally, BBC Sport reporter <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/sistoney67\/status\/1474403213059272709\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Simon Stone<\/a> has confirmed that the player will remain in the first-team squad for the rest of the season, despite interest from numerous clubs in a loan transfer.<\/p>\n<h3>Manchester United Director of Football Praises Elanga&#8217;s Professionalism<\/h3>\n<p>Manchester United&#8217;s Director of Football, John Murtough, has had his say on Elanga signing a new deal with the club, and has spoken highly of the talented youngster&#8217;s application from an early age.<\/p>\n<p>Murtough said: &#8220;Anthony is a young player that we all really believe in. He has consistently impressed throughout the Academy age groups and risen to every challenge that he has faced.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Anthony is extremely dedicated; he has the work-rate and attitude to keep improving every day and succeed at Manchester United.
