Despite inconsistent form and a recent drop in the Serie A table, Jose Mourinho remains safe at Roma. This comes from Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, who mentions Mourinho maintains full support from the owners and the board. Mourinho’s contract still goes on for quite a while, expiring in June 2024.<\/p>\n

Steady, but Work to be Done<\/h3>\n

Roma currently sit seventh in the Serie A table. They have 25 points after 16 matches, and this includes eight victories, one draw, and seven losses. It’s not the ideal start for Mourinho, but the club is still very much in the thick of things. They’re nine points off a Champions League spot. That’s not an easy mountain to climb, but not impossible with 22 matches left.<\/p>\n

I Giallorossi<\/i> have also lost against the top sides, including\u00a0AC Milan<\/a>, Inter Milan<\/a>, and Juventus<\/a>. Of course Roma faithful would hope to do better in big matches such as those, but Mourinho stepped in with a lot of work to be done.<\/p>\n

The team also holds a talented crew of players. Younger players like Tammy Abraham, Nicolo Zaniolo, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Matias Vina, and others are important to build around. The veterans, such as Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Chris Smalling, and Rui Patricio, are still very playable and solid mentors. There’s a lot to look forward to with this crop of players, and Romano also mentioned that reinforcements will be added in January.<\/p>\n

A realistic goal for Roma this season will be a top-six finish, Europa League qualification, and growth for two crucial building blocks in Abraham and Zaniolo.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, nothing will come easy for Roma. Three of their next five domestic matches come against Atalanta, Milan, and Juventus. This will be a crucial stretch for Mourinho to prove his worth.<\/p>\n
