Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the news that Roberto Firmino sustained a hamstring injury in the 2-0 win against Atletico Madrid<\/a> in the Champions League group stage game. The Brazilian didn\u2019t start the game, but came on at half-time for Sadio Mane, who received a booking in the first-half, and looked increasingly likely to receive a second yellow card. Such was the avoidable nature of the injury, Klopp will be frustrated.<\/p>\n

As it turns out, airing on the side of caution for one situation, only led to another frustrating situation. Speaking on the Firmino injury in his press conference, Klopp said<\/a>: \u201cBobby is not good news with a serious hamstring injury, really unfortunate. We don\u2019t know exactly how long he will be out but it will be not now after the international break directly. We have to work on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last season seems to have scarred many Liverpool<\/a> fans for life; every game, it felt like the Reds suffered injury after injury, with most turning long-term. Now, of course, this campaign has been nowhere near as bad, but the knocks are still piling up. As of right now, all of Naby Keita, Firmino, Joe Gomez, and Curtis Jones will miss the trip to West Ham.<\/a><\/p>\n

Speaking on Jones\u2019 and Gomez\u2019s injuries, Klopp said: \u201cCurtis is a completely different story [to Firmino], he was very unlucky in training \u2013 he got a finger that scratched the eye. I had a lot of injuries to players in my career, that was not involved. He is on the way back but we have to see how long exactly.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe will be back after the international break, for sure, but in the international break we have to see when he can start doing proper stuff again.<\/p>\n
