Well, courtesy of a study undertaken by the <a href=\"https:\/\/football-observatory.com\/IMG\/sites\/b5wp\/2021\/wp353\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CIES Football Observatory<\/a>, we can take a look at the clubs that have the most currently active graduates from their youth systems in Europe\u2019s \u2018big five leagues\u2019.<\/p>\n<h2>Which Football Academies Have the Most Currently Active Graduates Plying Their Trade in Europe\u2019s Top Five Leagues?<\/h2>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li>\n<h3>Chelsea \u2013 23 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A club more famed for its often-mocked loan network, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/23\/edouard-mendy-best-chelsea-signing\/\" target=\"_self\">Chelsea<\/a> have produced some of the continent\u2019s best talent in recent years. The club won the UEFA Youth League in 2015 and 2016, before earning runner-up medals in 2018 and 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Amongst the 23 graduates in Europe\u2019s top five leagues can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/02\/vladimir-coufal-signs-new-west-ham-united-contract\/\" target=\"_self\">West Ham United&#8217;s<\/a> Declan Rice, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/27\/ac-milan-fixtures-tough-run-ahead\/\" target=\"_self\">AC Milan\u2019s<\/a> Fikayo Tomori and of course the likes of Mason Mount and Reece James currently involved in the Blues\u2019 senior side.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li>\n<h3>Manchester United \u2013 23 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Many say the Class of \u201992 will never be bettered in English domestic football \u2013 certainly not Harry Redknapp who, quite fairly, argues West Ham\u2019s generation of Joe Cole, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Carrick, Frank Lampard and co. were superior.<\/p>\n<p>What is certain, is that <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/25\/manchester-united-contact-with-antonio-conte\/\" target=\"_self\">Manchester United\u2019s<\/a> current crop of academy graduates playing in Europe\u2019s top five leagues are not as trophy-laden. Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood are the standouts from their list.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li>\n<h3>Valencia \u2013 25 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Valencia\u2019s most incredible home-grown talent is arguably David Silva, who consistently dazzled Premier League spectators for the best part of a decade before returning to Spain.<\/p>\n<p>The little magician is still plying his trade in La Liga, although the likes of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/15\/raheem-sterling-manchester-city-forward\/\" target=\"_self\">Manchester City\u2019s<\/a> Ferran Torres and Carlos Soler and Jose Gaya \u2013 who both still play at Valencia \u2013 are the more valuable assets that started out at the club\u2019s academy and are playing in the big five leagues.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>\n<h3>Arsenal \u2013 25 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The Gunners have produced a multitude of talent from Hale End. Jack Wilshere should have been something great, Serge Gnabry somehow became something great and the likes of Ashley Cole and Cesc Fabregas always were and have been something great.<\/p>\n<p>Current <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/16\/dominic-calvert-lewin-arsenal\/\" target=\"_self\">Arsenal<\/a> academy graduates playing in Europe\u2019s big-time include <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/02\/bayern-munich-set-to-reach-agreement-with-serge-gnabry-over-new-deal\/\" target=\"_self\">Bayern Munich\u2019s<\/a> Gnabry, while the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are starring for their boyhood club.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>\n<h3>Saint-Etienne \u2013 25 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>French domestic football gets a bad rep, but no one can fault the sheer talent that comes out of Ligue 1 academies.<\/p>\n<p>Saint-Etienne are one such club who produce such talent, including Wesley Fofana, Kurt Zouma and Allan Saint-Maximin &#8211; all impressing at their respective Premier League clubs.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>\n<h3>Paris Saint-Germain \u2013 30 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Yes, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/05\/paris-saint-germain-mbappe-deal\/\" target=\"_self\">PSG<\/a> love to spend big and effectively buy their domestic dominance, but don\u2019t let that detract from their incredible youth network which has produced 30 players currently featuring in Europe\u2019s top five divisions.<\/p>\n<p>The side from the French capital have a long list of graduated stars, including the likes of Kingsley Coman, Ferland Mendy, Christopher Nkunku, Mike Maignan and Presnel Kimpembe \u2013 among others.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>\n<h3>Stade Rennais \u2013 30 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The third French entrants in this list come in the form of Stade Rennais, who also have 30 graduates playing across the big five.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from FIFA Ultimate Team legend Jimmy Briand, their most sensational graduates are <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/26\/frenkie-de-jong-hamstring-injury\/\" target=\"_self\">Barcelona\u2019s<\/a> Ousmane Dembele and <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/25\/el-clasico-real-madrid-barcelona\/\" target=\"_self\">Real Madrid\u2019s<\/a> Eduardo Camavinga \u2013 who has often been tipped to become the world\u2019s best midfielder for the next decade and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Birmingham City and Las Palmas will be the first to dispute that, however, having produced Jude Bellingham and Pedri respectively.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>\n<h3>Lyon \u2013 32 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Another French club in this top ten, Lyon boast 32 former academy players to be playing in Europe\u2019s top five leagues.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Martial, Alexandre Lacazette, Rayan Cherki, Houssem Aouar and Nabil Fekir are some stand out names to have come from the Lyon youth ranks while the headline act is Karim Benzema, who is proving a dominant force in La Liga.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>\n<h3>Barcelona \u2013 42 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Times may be bleak for Barcelona, but the Catalan giants can still fall upon their famed <em>La Masia<\/em> academy to give them pride.<\/p>\n<p>Their extensive list of graduates includes Ansu Fati, Gavi, Jordi Alba, Adama Traore, Thiago Alcantara and, of course, <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/08\/10\/lionel-messi-accepts-paris-saint-germain-contract\/\" target=\"_self\">Lionel Messi<\/a>, who ended his famous 21-year affiliation with the Catalan giants in notoriously heartbreaking fashion this summer.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<h3>Real Madrid \u2013 42 Graduates<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Quite appropriately tied with <em>La Blaugrana<\/em> at the top of the list are famous arch-rivals Real Madrid. <em>Los Blancos<\/em> can also boast a successful youth network, with 42 graduates in Europe\u2019s top five leagues right now.<\/p>\n<p>The standout names include now Atletico Madrid machine Marcos Llorente and PSG\u2019S very own rocket Achraf Hakimi.<\/p>\n<p>Main Photo<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"4E7969ObTK9-u9TrSs1FMw\" class=\"gie-single\" style=\"color: #a7a7a7;
