Borussia Dortmund<\/a> striker Erling Haaland is set to be out for a few weeks after picking up a hip flexor injury.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old had only just made his return from injury and scored twice in Dortmund’s 3-1 win against Mainz last weekend.<\/p>\n

However, Dortmund manager Marco Rose<\/a> confirmed the Norwegian will be out of action for the next couple of weeks.<\/p>\n

Erling Haaland Suffers Injury Setback<\/h2>\n

Big Blow For Borussia Dortmund<\/h3>\n

Erling Haaland’s latest injury setback is a huge blow for Borussia Dortmund. The German giants are already smarting from a 4-0 humiliation at the hands of Ajax in the Champions League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian striker had already missed games against Borussia Monchengladbach, Augsburg, and Sporting Lisbon with a muscular problem. He had only just returned from that injury and now is set for another spell on the sidelines.<\/p>\n

He has been in fantastic form this season and is currently the Bundesliga top scorer with nine goals, two more than Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski<\/a>. Haaland’s double against Mainz saw him reach a staggering 49 goals in 49 games for Die Schwarzgelben<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old missed the weekend win over Arminia Bielefield and will be absent for BVB’s Bundesliga match against Koln and the DFB Pokal second-round clash against Ingolstadt. He could also miss the Champions League clash against Ajax next month.<\/p>\n

His likely replacement will be Donyell Malen, who Dortmund signed from PSV Eindhoven in the summer.<\/p>\n

Dortmund manager Marco Rose<\/a> said: “Erling will be out, we’ll be without him for a couple of weeks even. He has a hip flexor injury which simply doesn’t make it possible for him to play. It’s the same thigh, but another location.<\/p>\n

“Erling was really down yesterday because he was happy to be back again. That he’s out again is not good for us, it’s not great for the lad, but Erling will get all the support he needs from the club, from the team.”<\/p>\n
