Spezia also hold an interest in the Argentine shot-stopper, though Venezia look to have won this race.<\/p>\n<h2>Free Agent Sergio Romero Set For Italian Return<\/h2>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Former Man Utd goalkeeper Sergio Romero is set to join Serie A side Venezia as free agent. The deal will see Romero join on a free transfer following a dismal final year at Old Trafford that saw him excluded from the squad.<\/p>\n<h3>Spezia Interest<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/football-italia.net\/romero-former-man-united-ma\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Football Italia<\/a> reports that Spezia were interested in Romero\u2019s signature but they instead opted to sign the former <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/football\/2021\/10\/06\/as-roma-to-revive-denis-zakaria-interest\/\" target=\"_self\">Roma<\/a> keeper Antonio Mirante who was also available on a free transfer leaving the path open for the newly promoted Serie A side Venezia to get their man.<\/p>\n<h3>Six Years at Manchester United<\/h3>\n<p>Romero played for United for six years and finally left the club when his contract expired at the end of the 2020\/21 Premier League season leaving him free to join another club on a free transfer but it has taken some time for him to finally find a new club.
