Leicester City<\/a> striker Kelechi Iheanacho will miss his side\u2019s Europa League clash against Legia Warsaw after being refused entry into the country by Polish border control, the club has confirmed<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Document Problem Prevents Iheanacho<\/h3>\n

The Nigeria international travelled with Leicester to Warsaw in the hope of earning a rare start in Brendan Rodgers\u2019 team but was denied entry by authorities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The country\u2019s border control reportedly spotted an issue with the relevant documentation compared to his passport, and ultimately refused to allow him through alongside his teammates. As such, Iheanacho is now set to return to the UK with a club official following his travel gaffe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The striker has started just two matches for Leicester this season, and the fixture against Legia would likely have presented him with another rare opportunity upfront in the side.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leicester manager Rodgers commented on the situation, saying<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019ve had an issue with Kelechi so his documentation coming into the country wouldn\u2019t suffice. Unfortunately, he\u2019s not available to play which is a shame because he would have played in the game.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe paperwork didn\u2019t allow him to enter the country, which is unfortunate. We\u2019ll have to look at that when we get back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who Can Leicester Play in Place of Iheanacho?<\/h3>\n

The absence of Iheanacho for Rodgers will provide a welcome opportunity for Patson Daka, who will likely slot into the side for the clash in Warsaw.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old Zambia striker joined the club from RB Salzburg in the summer<\/a> and started in Leicester\u2019s opening Europa League game, which was a draw against Napoli.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His short career for the Foxes has yet to yield a goal so far, but he could seize the opportunity to open his account on Thursday.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leicester have also confirmed<\/a> they will be without Jonny Evans with the defender out with an illness, while midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is suspended after receiving a red card in the previous match.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
