As per Christian Falk of German outlet, Bild, Bayern Munich<\/a>\u00a0are interested in Antonio Rudiger, but the player wants to remain at Chelsea<\/a> beyond the end of next summer when his contract expires at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Player Prefers Chelsea Stay<\/h3>\n

Rudiger has entered the final year of his Chelsea contract and is attracting interest from around Europe, but the player would prefer to extend his stay in London beyond the summer of 2022.<\/p>\n

Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the 28-year-old and has used him as a mainstay of his three man defences. There is concern over the fact that an extension is not yet signed, or even on the table, with the player able to sign pre-contract agreements from January 2022.\u00a0Tuchel recently stated that he hoped a new deal could be struck, but he understands the matter lies between the club, player and agents, as quoted by teamtalk.com:<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cI hope they find a solution but it is not only between coaches and players and what we wish for.\u00a0It is between the club, the player and the agent. He has been excellent, a very consistent player on a high level, calm and focused. Everything is in place but sometimes players need a bit longer. It is nothing new from our side.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bayern Contact<\/h3>\n

Falk has also reported that the situation very much hangs in the balance, with Bayern having contacted Rudiger\u2019s agent and half-brother Sahr Senesie, to start talks but, the player himself still leans toward a tendency to sign a new contract with the Blues.<\/p>\n

Since the arrival of Thomas Tuchel, Rudiger has become an increasingly vital player at Stamford Bridge. In fact, you could argue that the German has gone from a player almost guaranteed to depart to the best defender within the Chelsea ranks, and one of the best in the Premier League – hence the interest from top clubs like Bayern Munich.<\/p>\n
