Burnley<\/a> have been reportedly offered the chance to sign midfielder Weston McKennie on loan from Juventus<\/a>, according to Sky Sports<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Serie A<\/a> giants activated a purchase option to sign the USA international permanently from Schalke in March, but his future in Italy has still remained up in the air throughout the summer.<\/p>\n

McKennie Faces Stiff Competition at Juventus<\/h3>\n

Speculation surrounding McKennie\u2019s future has swirled despite only just being signed permanently by Juventus, with the reigning Serie A champions signing Manuel Locatelli<\/a> to add yet more depth and competition in midfield.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Manager Massimiliano Allegri also has the options of Arthur, Rodrigo Bentancur, Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey at his disposal, leaving McKennie with a mountain to climb to break into the starting lineup.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But Sky Sports now claim that the Old Lady have offered teams a late swoop to secure the services of the 22-year-old, with Burnley reportedly keen on taking up a loan move ahead of the deadline.<\/p>\n

The report also states that the Clarets have initiated talks with the Italian side, and are keen to complete a deal before the deadline passes tonight.<\/p>\n

McKennie Boasts Plenty of Experience\u00a0in Midfield<\/span><\/h3>\n

At such a young age, McKennie boasts a lot of experience despite being just 22-years-old. He made the move to Europe in the summer of 2016 and has gradually progressed up the ladder, moving from Schalke to Juventus in 2017.<\/p>\n

He featured in 46 games for Juve in all competitions last season<\/a>, scoring on six occasions within Serie A and the Champions League.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Such experience would prove to be invaluable for Sean Dyche\u2019s side, and he will likely be deployed within central midfield straight away should a transfer deal be completed.<\/p>\n

Dyche\u2019s current options in midfield are Ashley Westwood, Josh Brownhill and Jack Cork, but McKennie would undoubtedly offer a different element and style of play.<\/p>\n
