Since leaving Bournemouth<\/a> in July, Jack Wilshere has been without a club, with no offers on the table, as revealed in an interview with The Athletic\u2019s David Ornstein. He has, however, been spotted training with Serie B side Como<\/a> in an attempt to remain sharp. The Italian side have no intention of signing the former Arsenal man, with his non-EU passport preventing a move.<\/p>\n

The hope is that a club finally approaches Wilshere with an offer. Still only 29, the midfielder has plenty more to offer. At the moment, it\u2019s just about playing the waiting game as we approach the deadline of the transfer window.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with David Ornstein, Jack Wilshere opened up on his struggles to find a club and the mental strain is has had on him, saying<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing honest, I probably never thought I\u2019d be in this position,\u201d Wilshere acknowledges, solemnly.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday I was running around an athletics track and struggling to imagine I would be here at this point in my career. Everyone used to say to me, \u2018(At) 28, 29\u2026 you\u2019ll be at the peak of your career\u2019. And I genuinely thought I would. I thought I\u2019d still be playing for England, (that) I\u2019d be at a top club.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Arsenal man also went onto say:\u00a0\u201cMy kids are at an age where they understand. Especially Archie, who\u2019s nine. He\u2019s actually having conversations with me, saying, \u2018What about the MLS?\u2019 or \u2018Why aren\u2019t you playing in La Liga?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cHe loves football. He knows everything about football. And it is difficult to explain to him. He\u2019ll say to me, \u2018How come no club wants you?\u2019 I don\u2019t know. But how do I explain that to him?\u201d<\/p>\n

The story of a once future England mainstay into a forgotten, injury-prone reject is as brutal as it gets in football. Jack Wilshere will just be hoping to get back on the pitch again, and in competitive action.<\/p>\n
