Bournemouth<\/a> club captain Steve Cook is increasingly likely to leave the club this summer. According to the Telegraph’s Mike McGrath<\/a>, the 30-year-old is attracting interest from several clubs and could leave the Vitality Stadium on a season-long loan before the end of this transfer window.<\/p>\n

The Defender is Yet to Play in the Championship this Season<\/h3>\n

Steve Cook’s continued absence from Bournemouth’s starting lineup in the Championship has sparked rumours about a possible exit for the club captain. The 30-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract, has been subject to interest from several clubs looking to improve their defence.<\/p>\n

A knee injury suffered during the Cherries’ first-leg win over Brentford<\/a> in the play-off semi-finals last season had kept Cook out of pre-season. The defender finally returned to action in the midweek during the Cherries’ humbling loss to Norwich City<\/a> in the second round of the Carabao Cup. But the club captain was surprisingly not present on the bench during their draw against Hull City at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Cook is the longest-serving member of the Bournemouth squad. The defender has been with the Cherries for a decade now. During this period, he has made 382 appearances and scored 21 goals.<\/p>\n

Scott Parker Hopeful of Keeping his Centre Backs<\/h3>\n

The arrival of Gary Cahill and the emergence of Zeno Ibsen Rossi has seen the Cherries left with five first-team centre backs. Scott Parker was optimistic when quizzed about the possibility of keeping his centre backs following their draw against Hull City.<\/p>\n

He said<\/a>: \u201cAt the same time, while the window is open, there is also an opportunity of maybe that not being the case really.<\/p>\n

“At this moment, it seems like that\u2019s going to be the way. I\u2019ve not seen or heard any different really.<\/p>\n

“We have five centre-halves here. We will have to see over the last few days exactly how that transpires.\u201d<\/p>\n
