Having just waved goodbye to Moussa Sissoko, who joined Watford,<\/a> Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba before the window slams shut, according to Alasdair Gold of Football London.<\/a> They aren\u2019t alone in their interest, however, with London rivals Chelsea<\/a> also reportedly interested in making a move.<\/p>\n

A cut-price could be a agreed, too, with Barcelona\u2019s financial woes no secret. Moriba is among the players who failed to agree a new contract with a lower salary, leaving him a free agent next summer. Barcelona will be keen to let the youngster go this summer, though, in order to take a large chunk off their current wage bill.<\/p>\n

Coming into the Spurs job, Nuno Esp\u00edrito Santo would have been well aware at the extent of the task at hand. It was never going to be a quick and easy fix. It is a long-term project and the summer transfer window reflects that, with Pappe Matar Sarr joining<\/a> Bryan Gil and interest emerging in Ilaix Moriba.<\/p>\n

Now that Harry Kane has confirmed his stay, too, Esp\u00edrito Santo can get going with the strongest team possible. In an ideal world, he\u2019ll add a couple more players before the window slams shut, but, for now, the current Spurs squad should do the necessary job. The main goal was to keep Kane, and they\u2019ve done just that.<\/p>\n

With just four days left of the summer window, any extra addition will be an unexpected bonus. As of right now, reports suggest that there is certainly interest in Moriba, but whether Spurs have enough time to get a deal over the line, remains to be seen. Given Chelsea\u2019s interest on top of the lack of time, signing the midfielder may not be a possibility.<\/p>\n
