The Red Devils are in the market for a new defensive midfielder. The signing of a defensive midfielder has been one of Manchester United’s priorities this summer. Despite having a plethora of options in the centre of the park, the Red Devils have a 33-year-old Nemanja Matic as their only specialist defensive midfielder in the squad. The lack of quality options has forced Ole Gunnar Solskajer to use Fred and Scott McTominay in a double pivot to provide defensive cover for his team. This has seen several players reportedly linked with a move to Old Trafford, Aurelien Tchouameni being one of them.<\/p>\n

Corentin Tolisso is another name who has been linked with a move to Manchester this summer. The Frenchman has struggled to break into a packed Bayern Munich midfielder following his move to Germany in 2017. With just a year remaining on his contract, Bayern Munich are keen to sell the midfielder rather than allow him to move out of the club on loan.<\/p>\n

According to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, Manchester United<\/a> are not currently keen on signing the midfielder. The Italian journalist has denied rumours about the Red Devils making direct contacts with the club or agent regarding a potential move for the midfielder.<\/p>\n
