Roma<\/a> forward Pedro is set to be reunited with Maurizio Sarri with a free transfer to Lazio, according to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Chelsea<\/a> man worked with Sarri at Stamford Bridge – winning the Europa League together.<\/p>\n

Lazio Transfer on the Horizon for Roma Forward Pedro<\/h2>\n

A Reliable Option for Maurizio Sarri<\/h3>\n

Pedro made the move to Italy with Paulo Fonseca’s Roma last summer with his Chelsea career coming to an end. Despite a couple of injuries, Pedro managed 40 appearances for the club, scoring six and assisting seven. Fonseca has since been replaced by Jose Mourinho – the manager who originally brought Pedro to Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Pedro has always been a reliable winger. Maurizio Sarri is fully aware of that with the Spanish wide-man playing a hand in 18 goals during his 52 appearances in their season together in 2018\/19. The 34-year-old was amongst the goalscorers in the 2019 Europa League final – a 4-1 win over Arsenal<\/a> – when Sarri collected a major European medal.<\/p>\n

Jose Mourinho’s arrival does not appear to have convinced Pedro to stay, or perhaps the other way around, though the forward is seemingly keen on being reunited with Maurizio Sarri – even if it does mean joining Roma’s arch-rivals.<\/p>\n

Wealth of Experience Roma Forward Pedro Could Bring to Lazio<\/h3>\n

When you’ve played for Barcelona<\/a> and Chelsea, you’d have been very unlucky to have left both clubs without a medal. Pedro has suffered no such misfortune, lifting six league titles, a World Cup with Spain, three Champions League<\/a>‘s, a Europa League, an FA Cup<\/a>, and much more. Pedro’s trophy cabinet is full and he possesses great experience, which can only be an advantage to his suitors.<\/p>\n

Lazio finished sixth in 2020\/21, six points above Pedro’s current club and qualifying for the Europa League with it.<\/p>\n

It’s a fresh start for the blue side of Rome after Simone Inzaghi’s exit<\/a> to replace Antonio Conte with champions Inter Milan<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maurizio Sarri has been hired since and will look to work towards replicating his 2019\/20 Serie A<\/a> win with Juventus<\/a>. Sarri’s Napoli side were also one of the most popular within Italian football, so it will be interesting to see if he can get a similar level of performance out of I Biancocelesti.<\/p>\n
