The transfer of Harry Kane to Manchester City<\/a> is still in doubt as Daniel Levy holds firm. Kane is halfway through his six-year contract and Levy is keen on keeping him at Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>. There are reports that an unanswered bid of around \u20ac150 million (<\/a>\u00a3127 million) from Manchester City is on the table.<\/p>\n

Tottenham Refuse to Lower the Asking Price<\/h3>\n

According to\u00a0Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, Manchester City are waiting for a response to a \u20ac150 million proposal for Kane. This deal falls some distance from the reported \u00a3150 million asking price that Levy is sticking to. It is understood that Kane has a gentleman\u2019s agreement with Levy that would allow him to move. As reported in the Daily Mail<\/a>, the forward believes that Levy reneged on the agreement and tensions between the pair seem to be growing.<\/p>\n

Kane is yet to play for Spurs under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo after isolating from England duty. However, he is ready to return to action for the first time since leading The Three Lions to the final of Euro 2020. Despite being fit and ready to play, he is set to miss the Europa Conference League trip to Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira. The absence of Kane only raises further questions on the relationship between himself and Daniel Levy.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the month,\u00a0the England captain released a statement<\/a> to clear up rumours around missing training: “While I won’t go into the specifics of the situation, I want to clarify that I would never, and have never, refused to train. I will be returning to the club tomorrow, as planned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Man City Still Need a Frontman<\/h3>\n

After losing the evergreen Sergio Aguero to Barcelona<\/a>, the Manchester City squad is lacking an out-and-out goalscorer. The desperation of this was highlighted in their defeat to Tottenham. One alternative to Harry Kane is wonder kid Erling Haaland. However, Haaland will not be available until at least next summer, as per Manchester Evening News.<\/a> This would leave City without a talismanic goal scorer for a full season, which leaves them lagging behind rivals.<\/p>\n

Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp does believe Harry Kane will join City despite the slow transfer. Redknapp told talkSPORT<\/a>:\u00a0\u201cThey\u2019re looking to bring a few players in as well. They\u2019ve signed a centre-half and they\u2019re looking at a striker. Daniel wouldn\u2019t be spending big money unless he knew he was getting money back in. I do see Kane being a Man City player before the end of the window.\u201d<\/p>\n

This all hangs in the balance though as reports from the Daily Telegraph<\/a> claim Daniel Levy is now refusing calls regarding the transfer of his star man.<\/p>\n
