Manchester City<\/a> manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed the club’s interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> striker Harry Kane.<\/p>\n

He reiterated, though, that any deal for the England captain rests on Spurs’ willingness to negotiate.<\/p>\n

‘It Depends on Tottenham’<\/h3>\n

Kane has been linked with a move away from Tottenham all summer and added fuel to that fire by failing to turn up to training twice earlier this week.<\/p>\n

Guardiola was speaking ahead of City’s Community Shield clash against Leicester City and responded to the talk of City’s interest for the first time.<\/p>\n

He said<\/a>: “He’s a player for Tottenham Hotspur and if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, it’s finished.<\/p>\n

“If they are open to negotiate then not only Man City, many clubs in the world want to sign him, we are not an exception. It depends on Tottenham.<\/p>\n

“Jack [Grealish] was different, he had a release clause and he is different. Harry Kane is an exceptional, extraordinary striker, no doubts about that. Of course we are interested in him but he is a Tottenham player and if they don’t want to negotiate, nothing more to say and if they want it we will try, that’s all.”<\/p>\n

Outgoings?<\/h3>\n

With City pursuing Kane and spending in excess of \u00a3100 million to land Jack Grealish from Aston Villa, there are likely to be outgoings at the club too.<\/p>\n

Guardiola has confirmed that Bernardo Silva could be one of those given that the Portuguese wants to leave, but added that there are “two or three” who also want to depart.<\/p>\n

He said<\/a>: “Bernardo Silva is our player. Not just Bernardo, there are two or three players who want to leave but they’re under contract. We’re open to discuss but otherwise they will train very well and they will stay here. For those who want to leave, they know the door is open as we don’t want anyone who is unsatisfied.”<\/p>\n
