Brentford<\/a> are closing in on the signing of Lorient forward Yoane Wissa, according to Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports<\/a>.\u00a0The Bees have reportedly agreed a fee with the Ligue 1 side and the 24-year-old is already in London to complete a deal.<\/p>\n

Brentford Looking to Bolster Attacking Options<\/h3>\n

Brentford have been keen to add more firepower to their front line ahead of what is to be the club\u2019s maiden season in the Premier League. Thomas Frank\u2019s side have identified Wissa as the ideal player to link up with talisman Ivan Toney and tricky Frenchman Bryan Mbeumo.<\/p>\n

Wissa, capped by the Democratic Republic of Congo on two occasions<\/a>, is a fluid attacker who is capable of being deployed across the front line. He netted ten goals and provided five assists last season<\/a> en route to helping guide Lorient clear of relegation.<\/p>\n

A minor caveat in the deal is Wissa is yet to complete a medical with the Premier League newcomers, as he has been recovering from facial surgery after an alleged acid attack last month. Reports in France claim the perpetrator has since been arrested and charged<\/a> for the attack.<\/p>\n

Brentford, though, are hopeful that the incident will not have impacted Wissa\u2019s vision and are confident the forward will have no issues completing the scheduled physical examinations ahead of his imminent transfer.<\/p>\n

Brentford\u2019s Summer Signings So Far<\/h3>\n

Should Brentford eventually complete the signing of Wissa, he will arrive as the Bees\u2019 third acquisition of the summer.<\/p>\n

The West Londoners captured the signature of centre-back Kristoffer Ajer<\/a>\u00a0from Celtic for a club-record fee of \u00a313.5 million. Thomas Frank\u2019s side also acquired Nigerian defensive midfielder Frank Onyeka<\/a> from Danish sister club Midtjylland as the club prepare for their debut season in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
