Montenegro international Stevan Jovetic has officially completed<\/a> his transfer to Hertha Berlin.<\/a> The 31-year-old arrives at the German capital on a free after AS Monaco<\/a> released the striker following the expiry of his contract.<\/p>\n

Hertha Berlin Add Depth in Attack<\/h3>\n

Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin have signed Stevan Jovetic on a free transfer. The Montenegro international was available as a free agent after Monaco opted against extending his contract. The striker has signed a two-year deal with an option to extend with Hertha that will see him remain in Berlin until June 2023.<\/p>\n

Jovetic has played in several countries following his debut with Partizan in 2006. The striker has had spells in the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga and recently in Ligue 1. The 31-year-old most recently played for Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.<\/p>\n

The striker joined Monaco in 2017 on a free transfer from Inter Milan<\/a>. Jovetic played three seasons with the Monegasques. During that period, he made 77 appearances and scored 21 goals for the French side. He struggled with injuries during his time and played over 30 games in a season just once in the last four seasons.<\/p>\n

Hertha Berlin were a bit short on the attacking end following the departure of Jhon Cordoba to Ruben Kazan. The Columbian was the second-highest goalscorer for the Berlin side last season. The Old Lady will be hoping that Jovetic will fill in the void left by Cordoba.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the club website, Steven Jovetic said<\/a>: \u201cI had really good conversations with the club, in particular with Fredi Bobic. I was really interested by this chance to come to Berlin right away. I\u2019m now looking forward to this club, the city, my new teammates and the Bundesliga. I can\u2019t wait to get going and I want to help the side with my experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
