Lille<\/a> have identified Benfica’s Odisseas Vlachodimos as the replacement for Mike Maignan. The French side have made direct contact with the Greek footballer, according to Fabrizio Romano.<\/a><\/p>\n

Defending Ligue 1 champions Lille have set their eyes on Odisseas Vlachodimas. The French side have been in search of a goalkeeper following the departure of Maignan to AC Milan<\/a>. New Lille manager Jocelyn Gourvennec is keen to add another goalkeeper to the squad before the start of the new season. Despite making direct contact with Vlachodimas, the French side will reportedly have a hard time negotiating for the Greek international with Benfica.<\/p>\n

Vlachodimas joined Benfica in 2018 after three seasons in the Greek League with Panathinaikos. The Greek international was the first-choice shot-stopper for the Portuguese side for the first two seasons, but lost his place last season to Helton Leite during the second half of the season.\u00a0Reports had emerged about a bit of unrest from the Greek goalkeeper.<\/p>\n

The keeper has made 121 appearances for the Portuguese giants during his three seasons at the club. He was an integral part of the last Benfica team to win the league title.<\/p>\n

Only Outgoings So Far for Lille in This Transfer Window<\/h3>\n

This summer transfer window has seen several key players move out of Lille. Mike Maignan, who started in goal for Lille, was the first to announce his departure<\/a>, joining Italian giants AC Milan for around \u20ac13 million.<\/p>\n

Midfielder Boubakary Soumare left the club next, joining<\/a> Premier League side Leicester City.\u00a0The French side then sold midfielder Rominigue Kouame to the newly-promoted side Troyes, following his spell with the club. While Adama Soumaoro moved to Bologna after a loan spell with the Italian side.<\/p>\n

Fresh from winning the league title, Lille must invest this summer if they want to retain it in the forthcoming campaign.<\/p>\n
