Both Newcastle United<\/a> and Premier League debutants Brentford<\/a> have entered a transfer battle for Jens Cajuste, FC Midtjylland\u2019s Swedish midfielder who is also admired by Ligue 1 side Rennes.<\/p>\n

Battle for Jens Cajuste on as Rennes Struggle to Complete Deal<\/h2>\n

Newcastle United and Brentford Set to Battle for Jens Cajuste<\/h3>\n

Rennes have been looking at signing Cajuste to replace Eduardo Camavinga who is being chased by the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Manchester United <\/a>may be interested as well but Rennes are keen to line up a replacement before any deal to sell Camavinga is completed.<\/p>\n

RMC Sport <\/a>have reported that Rennes have now had two bids for the player rejected and talks have hit an impasse which has led to both Steve Bruce\u2019s Newcastle and Thomas Frank\u2019s Brentford entering the battle for Cajuste\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n

Newcastle Interest Depends on Joe Willock Move<\/h3>\n

Steve Bruce had Arsenal<\/a> youngster Joe Willock on loan for the second half of last season and the player impressed with Bruce wanting to negotiate a permanent deal for the player. That decision looks to be resting with Mikel Arteta and Arsenal, however, who are yet to confirm or deny if Willock will be in their plans for the upcoming Premier League season. Should Willock not be possible, Bruce may turn to Cajuste as a viable alternative.<\/p>\n

Brentford Looking to Strengthen Ahead of Premier League Debut<\/h3>\n

Following victory in the Championship play-off final, Brentford want to strengthen their squad as they prepare to make their first appearance in the Premier League and Cajuste could fit the fill. He is only 21 but has experience at the top level in other countries and five caps for Sweden.<\/p>\n

Rennes may yet come back with a third bid for the player but, should they fail again, both Brentford and Newcastle will be ready to see if they can do a deal.<\/p>\n
