AC Milan<\/a> are busy on the transfer hunt this week, and renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano<\/a> has confirmed it. The\u00a0Rossoneri\u00a0<\/em>are close to reaching an agreement with Monaco for left-back Fode Ballo-Toure, Olivier Giroud’s transfer will soon be official, and the team is closely monitoring Nikola Vlasic of CSKA Moscow. Here is an AC Milan transfer update.<\/p>\n

AC Milan Transfer Update: Club are Busy on the Transfer Hunt<\/h2>\n

Olivier Giroud and Fode Ballo-Toure<\/h3>\n

The Giroud signing has been rumoured since before Euro 2020, and now that it’s reached its conclusion, Milan are finalising the deal. Milan’s director and legendary former captain, Paolo Maldini, confirmed<\/a> to DAZN that Giroud will be the newest signing. This move bolsters Milan’s striker depth and gives them another veteran presence as they make their long-awaited return to the Champions League. The Frenchman scored six goals in eight Champions League matches for Chelsea<\/a> last season, en route to winning the trophy.<\/p>\n

Ballo-Toure is another depth signing at left-back. Milan’s current starting left-back, Theo Hernandez, is one of the top in Italy and his spot is in no danger. The\u00a0Rossoneri\u00a0<\/em>lacked left-back depth last season, often having to turn to Manchester United<\/a> loanee (and natural right-back) Diogo Dalot. Ballo-Toure appeared in 24 matches for Monaco last season, and also provided four assists. He clearly fits the type of full-back Milan manager Stefano Pioli prefers – a solid defensive presence with a knack for participating offensively.<\/p>\n

Nikola Vlasic<\/h3>\n

Milan are eagerly attempting to replace Hakan Calhanoglu<\/a>. The Turkish creator is now a part of inner-city rivals Inter Milan. With that being the case, Maldini and company are aiming for CSKA Moscow and Croatian star Vlasic. Romano mentions that the\u00a0Rossoneri<\/em>‘s opening bid was rejected, but surely the deal is not dead in the water just yet.<\/p>\n

Vlasic holds a history of strong play and success in Russia. In the 2019\/20 season, he scored 13 goals and provided seven assists in 38 appearances. This past season, Vlasic scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 34 appearances.<\/p>\n

At first glance, these numbers may not jump off the stat sheet. Vlasic, however, is just 23-years-old. He fits Milan’s timeline of young but talented players ready to grow together. If the\u00a0Rossoneri\u00a0<\/em>can find a fair price with CSKA, then it will surely be a move worth the fee.<\/p>\n
