Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a> have made their second signing of the summer, confirming the arrival of Francisco Trincao on loan from Barcelona<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old is highly-regarded at both Barcelona and in his native Portugal.<\/p>\n

Trincao began his career with Portuguese side SC Braga, making his full debut aged 17 in 2018.<\/p>\n

After making six appearances during his first season, Trincao became an established member of the first-team during the 2019\/20. His performances during the first half of the season earned him a move to the Nou Camp, as a move for him to join following the end of the season was agreed in January.<\/p>\n

The move inspired the 21-year-old to enjoy an impressive second half of the season – he added six more goals to his tally, while also registering a further six assists.<\/p>\n

Despite being highly-regarded, Trincao has struggled to make an impact on Barcelona’s front three this season. He has made just three starts for Ronald Koeman’s side, scoring just three times.<\/p>\n

What Was Said?<\/h3>\n

Speaking about the signing of Trincao, technical director, Scott Sellars, said:<\/a> “He\u2019s a really exciting player. It\u2019s an area we\u2019d like more competition, in terms of wide players.<\/p>\n

“I think the fans are going to enjoy watching him play, he drives with the ball well and has good creativity.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve watched him a lot, especially over the last couple of months, so he\u2019s been on our radar for quite a while.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s got loads of quality \u2013 signing for Barcelona from Braga shows what potential he\u2019s got. He\u2019s 21 and has played quite a lot of games in La Liga, so we think he\u2019s ready for the Premier League.<\/p>\n

“He\u2019s a player who drifts past people and he has a great change of direction when he\u2019s moving with the ball.<\/p>\n

“He has great speed over two or three yards, to change direction and get away from people, can score and create, and is an exciting player.\u201d<\/p>\n
