Those without a wildcard must select their squads very carefully. You can choose four players from a team now but if that team goes out, you are left with a big problem. There are some very close matches on paper and even those that seem easy might turn out to be very tough.

Day One

Matchday four kicks off on June 26with Denmark taking on Wales. The Danes have played really well in this tournament and will go in as favorites. Wales performed well in one match so far but they have game changers in Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.

This could go either way but one could consider taking one or two players from this game. Joakim Mæhle and Mikkel Damsgaard are two nice and cheap options to consider. You could also look at Yussuf Poulsen or Martin Braithwaite as well.

Italy will take on Austria in a match the Azzurri will be heavy favorites to coast through. You
really cannot see Austria troubling them too much and picking four Italians is probably a good idea. There are so many great options to choose from the Italian squad. Leonardo Spinazzola, Domenico Berardi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Ciro Immobile and Lorenzo Insigne are all good options.

Day Two

Matchday two kicks off on June 27. With three wins out of three, the Netherlands seem unstoppable. However, their defence has not looked convincing. The Dutch should go through but it may not be plain sailing against the Czech. Memphis Depay, Georginio Wijnaldum and Denzel Dumfries are the best options from this game.

The evening game on day two between Portugal and Belgium is arguably the match of the round. This is likely to be a very close game and for fantasy managers the smart play is to pick one or two players at most from this game. Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne and Cristiano Ronaldo are the only ones to consider.

Day Three

Matchday three kicks off on June 28. Croatia v Spain will kick off day three. This is another tight game to call. Spain should win but the Croatians have some experienced players which is always crucial in knockout games. With the winners of this game likely facing France in the last eight, it is probably best to pick one player at most from this game. Jordi Alba, Unai Simon and Pablo Sarabia are the ones to consider.

World champions France are expected to win their last 16 match against Switzerland. The Swiss traditionally go out of major tournaments at this stage and this seems the most likely outcome this time around as well.

You could consider three or four french players. However, their best players are all strikers and they are facing some injury issues at the back as well. Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe are the best options with Hugo Lloris, Presnel Kimpembe and Raphael Varane providing defensive options.

Day Four

Matchday four kicks off on June 29. England v Germany is a massive game but you should not expect it to be an exciting one. In fact, it is quite probable that one goal for either side will win this game. You could consider the defensive options like John Stones, Jordan Pickford and Harry Maguire from England whereas Robin Gosens could be an exciting option from Germany.

Sweden will go in as favorites against Ukraine in the last game of the round. However, you should not expect an easy win for the Swedes. Ukraine have not clicked so far but they do possess some dangerous attacking players. One or two players from Sweden should be good enough.

Emil Forsberg has been in superb form so far and he should be considered strongly. Marcus Danielson is a good cheap defensive option whereas you could take a punt with Dejan Kulusevski as well. Robin Olsen is also a decent shout.

Euro 2020 Fantasy Football Matchday Four Captaincy Picks

DAY 1 (June 26)

• Choose an Italian player (Immobile, Insigne, Berardi, Spinazzola)

DAY 2 (June 27)

• Depay, Wijnaldum, De Bruyne

DAY 3 (June 28)

• Benzema, Mbappe

DAY 4 (June 29)

• Forsberg

Euro 2020 Fantasy Football Matchday Four Draft Squad

Donnarumma, Olsen

Spinazzola, Mahle, Varane, Kimpembe, Dumfries

Kevin De Bruyne, Wijnaldum, Berardi, Damsgaard, Forsberg

Benzema, Depay, Immobile

Main Photo
Embed from Getty Images

Euro 2020 Fantasy Football Matchday Four kicks off on June 26.
