Talks between Manchester United<\/a> and Borussia Dortmund<\/a> over the transfer of England international Jadon Sancho have continued to progress, with personal terms and agents’ fees having been agreed for some time.<\/p>\n

According to Fabrizio Romano<\/a>, the two clubs remain at a distance over the overall transfer fee as well as payment structure. However, BILD Sport’s head of football Christian Falk<\/a> feels a deal is closer now than at any point since the protracted negotiations began.<\/p>\n

Borussia Dortmund Still Pushing for Higher Transfer Fee<\/h3>\n

The latest developments in one of European football’s longest-running transfer sagas indicate that Manchester United are now willing to pay up to \u20ac85 million for the Dortmund star.<\/p>\n

This is \u20ac10 million short of the Bundesliga side’s current valuation of the 21-year-old, and Dortmund remain unwilling to budge under pressure from the Old Trafford club.<\/p>\n

Secondly, agreements are still yet to be made over how exactly the transaction will be carried out if a total fee is to be agreed in the coming days. Manchester United are intending to propose a series of add-ons and instalments over time, with Dortmund likely to favour a single transfer fee paid up-front.<\/p>\n

Despite these differences preventing a deal from being officially agreed, both parties still maintain the quiet optimism that Sancho is soon to become a Manchester United player.<\/p>\n

Jadon Sancho Remaining Fully Focused on Euro 2020<\/h3>\n

Despite the background rumblings over his club future, Sancho has reiterated that his full focus remains on performing for England at this summer’s European Championships.<\/p>\n

The London-born winger recently told talkSPORT<\/a> that the intense speculation surrounding his next move would not impact his motivation to deliver for his country. Since then, Sancho played his first minutes at the tournament in Tuesday’s win over the Czech Republic.<\/a><\/p>\n

England manager Gareth Southgate had resisted calls to hand a first start in the competition to the fans’ favourite, instead opting to bring Sancho off the substitutes’ bench as England eased to a 1-0 victory that secured a first-place finish in Group D.<\/p>\n
