Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> have reignited their interest in Norwich City<\/a> defender Max Aarons, according to Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports<\/a>. Spurs are on the lookout for a new right-back, with Serge Aurier keen to leave<\/a> the club and Matt Doherty experiencing a questionable first season with the club.<\/p>\n

The club, who are still without a manager after missing out<\/a> on their latest target, Paulo Fonseca, have also shown an interest in Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> defender Tariq Lamptey<\/a> this summer. New sporting director Fabio Paratici<\/a>, who is in charge of the transfers at the club, will be assessing all of the available options as they aim to bring in the right man.<\/p>\n

Aarons is considered to be the cheaper option of Spurs’ two main targets for the position. According to Thomas’ report, Brighton could demand up to \u00a350 million for Lamptey, who enjoyed a brilliant first season with the Seagulls before missing the end of the campaign through injury.<\/p>\n

Norwich’s Aarons, though, is valued only at around \u00a330 million. He impressed in the Canaries’ 2019\/20 Premier League campaign and stayed with the club as they dropped back down to the Championship last season before helping them to promotion once again.<\/p>\n

Other Interested Teams<\/h3>\n

With Norwich back in the top flight, they have a much better chance of keeping hold of Aarons than if they were still in the Championship. Thomas reports that they are keen for the defender to sign a new contract having been a key part of their promotion.<\/p>\n

Manchester United<\/a> have also been interested this summer, but they would prefer to make a move for Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier. They previously had a bid knocked back<\/a> for the English defender.<\/p>\n

Everton, too, have held an interest, but that was when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge. He has since left to return to Real Madrid<\/a>, leaving the Toffees in the hunt for a new boss.<\/p>\n
