Adams’ Versatility Is a Key Factor in Arsenal’s Interest<\/h3>\n

The 22-year-old has impressed at the Red Bull Arena this season, making 40 appearances in all competitions. He can play at right-back and in central midfield, which makes him a potentially key signing from the club’s perspective.<\/p>\n

It is believed that he can fit well into Arteta’s ‘inverted’ system on the right side of the field. The Gunners are also interested in signing a player who can play at left-back. Adams could provide cover for another player in Arsenal’s side to fill in at left-back or play there if necessary.<\/p>\n

A player of Adams’ profile will be necessary for Mikel Arteta this summer with the expected departure of Hector Bellerin and Granit Xhaka’s imminent departure<\/a> to join Jose Mourinho’s Roma.<\/p>\n

Adams is likely to be on the radar of several top European clubs. After a difficult first full season in Germany, when he was plagued with injuries, Adams adapted to the Bundesliga and showed the form that earned him a move from New York Red Bulls in 2019.<\/p>\n

The German club is keen on keeping one of the side’s important defenders this summer due to the number of high-profile defenders leaving the club this summer. Dayot Upamecano<\/a> is heading to Bayern Munich<\/a>, while Ibrahima Konate has agreed on a deal to join Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Liverpool.<\/a><\/p>\n

Due to Adams’ contract at Leipzig, which runs until 2025, Arsenal are uncertain as to whether signing the American this summer is possible. Adams is seen as a long-term target the club may return to in future transfer windows.<\/p>\n
