David Moyes is set to sign a new three deal at West Ham United, according to Sky Sports<\/a>. The contract recognises the progress he has made in his second stint as manager of West Ham <\/a>where he led the London club to a sixth placed finish and qualification for the 2021\/22 Europa League. The sixth placed finish also saw them finish above London rivals Tottenham Hotspur <\/a>and Arsenal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

David Moyes Edging Closer to New Contract<\/h2>\n

Moyes became an Everton<\/a> legend during his spell as manager between 2002 and 2013 but was burnt somewhat when he was the \u2018chosen one\u2019 to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United<\/a> in 2013- lasting just over a year after failing to gain European qualification.<\/p>\n

Less than successful spells then followed at Real Sociedad and Sunderland before a first spell at West Ham where he led them club away from relegation before leaving at the end of the 2017\/18 season when his contract ended.<\/p>\n

His reputation was left looking less than favourable but the Hammers brought him back to the club in 2019 and he has exceeded expectations ever since- \u00a0leading to a new and improved three year contract for the Scotsman.<\/p>\n

West Ham have been keen to tie David Moyes down to a longer contract after he was linked with a return to Everton. The Toffees are looking for a new manager following the sudden departure of Carlo Ancelotti who returned to <\/span>Real Madrid.<\/a><\/p>\n

David Moyes Happy With Squad<\/h3>\n

Speaking to Sky Sports at the end of the 20\/21 season<\/a>, Moyes said he was happy with his squad and thinks they can continue to be successful:\u00a0“If I have the exact same group of players next season I think we can continue to be successful. I am hoping we can add similar characters to the squad next season.”<\/p>\n

With Everton\u2019s owners not short of cash, there were some concerns from fans that he would be lured back to the club. The fact he has now signed a new deal with the Hammers is a signal of intent for stability at West Ham\u00a0<\/a>and few would deny that David Moyes\u2019 new three year deal is well earned.<\/p>\n
