Austrian midfielder Marcel Sabitzer may end his six-year spell with RB Leipzig<\/a> this summer. The 27-year-old has been integral to Leipzig’s continued rise to the top end of the Bundesliga and his club’s excellent runs in Europe.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, it seems that Sabitzer may be heading for pastures new this summer. Leipzig have already lost Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate to Bayern Munich<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Liverpool<\/a>\u00a0respectively, and with Sabitzer seemingly ready to depart, the Bundesliga’s runners-up could be in for a summer of rebuilding.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Marcel Sabitzer Set to Become Cheaper This Summer<\/span><\/h2>\n

Tottenham Hotspur Remain an Interested Party<\/span><\/h3>\n

Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> have been long-time admirers of the Austrian international. The Lilywhites were previously put off by his \u20ac50 million price tag, but with a reduced fee expected, the North London club have since reignited their interest. According to The Athletic,<\/a> Sabitzer could be available for around a third of that price.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There has also been no indication that the attack-minded midfielder will renew his contract at Leipzig, which expires in 12 months. In addition, Leipzig’s chairman, Oliver Mintzlaff, has confirmed that the club are looking to reduce the size of the squad, suggesting his sale could be prioritised.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Tottenham Will Face Some Competition at Least<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is believed that several Premier League clubs have previously monitored the midfielder. Similar to Spurs’ interest, his seemingly low price is likely to appeal to the majority of those who have tracked him in the past.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Should Sabitzer perform well at the Euros, then it is near enough certain that Tottenham will have to compete with the rest of Europe for his signature.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He was the standout performer in an Austrian shirt when they visited England in their recent pre-tournament friendly, and there are exceptionally high expectations from fans who are hoping to at least reach the knockout stages of the tournament.<\/span><\/p>\n
