Aston Villa’s Transfer Moves Have Encouraged City<\/span><\/h3>\n

Guardiola is keen to bring in attacking reinforcements as he\u00a0<\/span>expects some of City’s attacking options to depart this summer<\/span><\/a>. He has previously stated the importance of ‘<\/span>shaking up<\/span><\/a>‘ his squad to remain competitive in the Premier League and Europe next season.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Spaniard has been an admirer of Grealish for years. He has been encouraged by Aston Villa’s \u00a333 million signing of Emiliano Buendia, which indicates the club could be open to selling their captain this summer. According to the report, Villa value Grealish at around \u00a3100 million.<\/span><\/p>\n

City currently have an abundance of attacking talent, but expect some of the forwards at the Etihad to join Sergio Aguero in leaving the club this summer and want to replace them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grealish is currently with the England squad preparing for Euro 2020, where he will have the opportunity to show he is capable of linking up with Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling ahead of a potential move to Manchester.<\/span><\/p>\n

Grealish’s Fate is Far From Sealed<\/span><\/h3>\n

While City seem optimistic about the potential of signing the 25-year-old, he is also on the radar of city rivals\u00a0<\/span>Manchester United<\/span><\/a>. United’s owners have\u00a0<\/span>committed<\/span><\/a>\u00a0to backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer window this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Villa’s \u00a3100 million valuation of Grealish could be problematic, as the England international is contracted at Villa Park until 2025. While the signing of Buendia indicates an openness from the club to sell their star man, they can negotiate from a position of strength.<\/span><\/p>\n

City are reportedly keen to bring in world-class replacements for attacking departures this summer. Guardiola is an admirer of Grealish, but he may feel there are players that better fit that tag available for less this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n
