According to reports, Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers<\/a> could allow their promising centre back Dion Sanderson<\/a> to leave permanently this summer. Following two successful loan spells, he will be in high demand. Sunderland<\/a> signing Dion Sanderson permanently following his loan spell would certainly be a statement of intent that the Black Cats mean business next season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Black Cats Set to Table Bid<\/span><\/h3>\n

According to Football Insider<\/a> and Simon Jones of the Daily Mail<\/a>, an opening bid is set to be tabled by Sunderland for Dion Sanderson. A fee of around \u00a32 million could seal the deal. However, it is expected that the Black Cats could face stiff competition for the defenders signature unless they act quickly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sunderland signing Dion Sanderson, who impressed fans and staff alike on Wearside, would show that the club means business ahead of next season – a season that looks set to be one of the most competitive League One has seen in recent memory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Successful Loan Spell on Wearside\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Dion Sanderson was one of the stand out performers for the Black Cats last season. The 21-year-old played 26 games and was awarded the clubs Young Player of the Year trophy. He is held in high regard on and off the field at Sunderland with many believing that had Sanderson not suffered a season-ending injury, the Black Cats would have been promoted.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Head Coach Lee Johnson described Sanderson<\/a> as a \u201cRolls Royce\u201d and would surely be delighted if a deal can be done with Wolves for the talented defender.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following Kyril Louis-Dreyfus<\/a>\u2019s takeover of the club earlier this year, he has overseen an overhaul behind the scenes with specialist staff coming in to do specialist jobs. Along with Lee Johnson and his backroom staff, in came Kristjaan Speakman as Sporting Director, Steve Davison as Chief Operating Officer and Stuart Harvey as Head of Player Recruitment, amongst others. It has seen the club build, not only in the years ahead, but also in the near future. A future that must-see Sunderland promoted from League One.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In Louis-Dreyfus, Sunderland have the funds and they also appear to be getting things right slowly off the field too. A team to get the club promoted is essential. Sunderland signing Dion Sanderson will be the beginning of showing to the fans and other clubs that they are showing their intent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
