Joe Willock has been exceptional at St James’ Park following his deadline day move from Arsenal<\/a>. The 21-year-old revitalized a toothless Newcastle attack and helped them secure once again secure Premier League status.<\/p>\n

According to the Telegraph<\/a>, Willock’s fine spell has prompted Newcastle United<\/a> to look at signing the 21-year-old on a permanent deal. The England U21 international has been in fine form for the Magpies following his move, scoring seven league goals in just thirteen matches.<\/p>\n

The news comes in the wake of Joe Willock expressing a wish to extend his stay at St James’ Park. The 21-year-old was speaking to NUFC TV<\/a> following Newcastle’s win over Sheffield United, saying: \u201cI want to say thank you for making me feel so welcome, thank you for greeting me with open arms. I hope you are satisfied with what I have given for the club so far and hopefully, there\u2019s more to continue in the future. I\u2019m not going to promise anything but the conversation [about signing permanently] is going to be held.”<\/p>\n

A Game Changer at St James Park<\/h3>\n

The England U21 international has been a catalyst in helping Newcastle United secure Premier League<\/a> status. When Joe Willock arrived at Newcastle United, the club were struggling with just 22 points from their 21 matches.<\/p>\n

The Magpies had secured just five points and had just one victory from their previous ten matches. The England U21 international scored on his debut against Crystal Palace<\/a> to guide Steve Bruce’s men to their second win of the year.<\/p>\n

The tide changed for Newcastle United and Joe Willock during their match against Tottenham Hotspur<\/a>. The Magpies’ string of poor results had seen them drop to just two points of 18th placed Fulham. An 86th-minute equaliser from Joe Willock earned a much-needed point for the Magpies.<\/p>\n

Willock went onto score in his next five matches to help the Magpies cross the 40-point mark. Joe Willock’s winner against Sheffield United made him the youngest player in Premier League history to score in six consecutive league matches.<\/p>\n

Joe Willock Stay Could Help the Magpies Keep Allan Saint-Maximin at Newcastle<\/h3>\n

Allan Saint-Maximin has arguably been one of the better players to arrive at St James’ Park in recent seasons. Despite having a contact until 2026, the winger’s impressive form for the Magpies has seen the former Saint-Etienne academy graduate attract interest from several clubs.<\/p>\n

Recent weeks have seen Saint-Maximin express his views on keeping Willock at St James’ Park. During an exclusive with Sky Sports<\/a>, the 24-year-old spoke about signing the England U21 international on a permanent deal. He also spoke about his relationship with the 21-year-old midfielder: \u201cMy relationship is really good with Joe inside and outside the pitch, and you can see how that helps a team when you have players like that – like Harry Kane and Heung-min Son at Tottenham.\u201d<\/p>\n
