Crystal Palace<\/a> have announced that manager Roy Hodgson will depart the club at the end of the season. The former England boss took over at Palace after they sacked Frank De Boer just four games into the 2017\/18 season. Despite losing his first three in charge, thus meaning Palace were left with zero points after seven games, he managed to guide them to survival.<\/p>\n

Since then, Hodgson has managed to maintain a steady ship at the South London club, largely keeping them well away from any looming relegation battles. All that has been done with pretty limited resources, too. Prior to the acquisition of Eberechi Eze last summer, Palace’s record signing under Hodgson had been midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate from West Ham United for just under \u00a310 million. A lot of money, yes – but compared to some of the other riches seen in the Premier League, it pales in comparison.<\/p>\n
