The 2020\/21\u00a0<\/span>Ligue 1<\/span><\/a>\u00a0season is nearing its end as just six matchdays remain after last weekend’s action concluded on Sunday. With all four clubs involved in the title race achieving victories, it continues to appear that the Ligue 1 champion will not be decided until the final day of the season. Here are three key takeaways from the Ligue 1 Matchday 32 results.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ligue 1 Matchday 32: Three Key Takeaways<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Goals Continue to Flow for Monaco<\/span><\/h3>\n

Monaco’s<\/a> impressive goal-scoring form continued on Matchday 32. They scored three second-half goals to defeat Dijon 3-0 at the Stade Louis II. This was the third consecutive match where they have recorded three goals or more. By outscoring their opponents 11-0 during this three-match winning streak, Monaco have become the\u00a0<\/span>second-highest goal scoring club in the league<\/span><\/a>. Only Paris Saint-Germain<\/a> have scored more goals this season with 71, while Monaco are close behind with\u00a0<\/span>67<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

If Monaco ends up surpassing PSG for most goals scored this season it would be the first time that Les Parisiens have not finished atop this statistical category since the\u00a0<\/span>2016\/17 Ligue 1 season<\/span><\/a>. Interestingly enough, that same 2016\/17 season saw Monaco record more goals than PSG en route to their league title. With Monaco only four points behind first-place Lille in the table, there could be a repeat of the 2016\/17 campaign where Monaco’s impressive goal-scoring capabilities led them to a Ligue 1 title.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paris Saint-Germain Rebound Against Strasbourg<\/span><\/h3>\n

After losing to Lille the week prior, it was a great response from PSG against Strasbourg. Three first-half goals gave PSG a rather comfortable 4-1 victory as\u00a0<\/span>Kylian Mbappe<\/span><\/a>\u00a0led the way with\u00a0<\/span>a goal and assist<\/span><\/a>. PSG’s victory ensured they stayed three points behind Lille in the title race. Their final six league fixtures will feature just one club that is currently in the top five which means that PSG still have a very good chance of winning the league. As long as they can avoid any more shock defeats then they will be able to challenge for the title up until the very last matchday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Montpellier Extend Unbeaten Run of Form<\/span><\/h3>\n

The last time Montpellier<\/a> lost a Ligue 1 fixture was\u00a0<\/span>Matchday 22<\/span><\/a>. Since then, they have either earned a point or claimed victory in their last ten league matches. Against Marseille on Saturday it looked like this unbeaten run of form was going to come to an end, but a second-half stoppage-time goal from\u00a0<\/span>Gaetan Laborde<\/span><\/a>\u00a0ensured the home side rescued a point at the very last. The draw keeps Montpellier six points from a European place as they look to continue to move up the table.<\/span><\/p>\n
