According to Simon Bajkowski of Manchester Evening News,<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>Southampton<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0West Ham Unite<\/span><\/a>d are just two of a whole host of clubs interested in\u00a0<\/span>Manchester City’s<\/span><\/a>\u00a0Yangel Herrera.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Venezuelan midfielder is currently on loan at La Liga club Granada, with his performances in Spain, catching the interest of Spain’s top tier too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Southampton and West Ham Interested in Yangel Herrera<\/span><\/h2>\n

Yangel Herrera Emerges as a Highly Sought-After Individual<\/span><\/h3>\n

The 23-year-old’s displays in a Granada shirt has helped accumulate a considerable amount of interest. He has been predominantly deployed as a holding midfielder since arriving in the South of Spain, but he can also operate as a more box-to-box player.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite seeing an increasing amount of attraction for the midfielder, Herrera is still highly regarded by City and is still part of their plans for the future. His performances in a Granada shirt are consistently proving that he has the ability to perform at the highest level and he would certainly create competition, should he stay with the Premier League champions in the near future.<\/span><\/p>\n

Herrera’s current club, Granada, host\u00a0<\/span>Manchester United<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in the quarter-finals of the Europa League on Thursday night – an occasion for Herrera to once again prove himself in front of European eyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Southampton have been keen to bolster their midfield options since Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg left a glaringly obvious void when he departed for\u00a0<\/span>Tottenham Hotspur<\/span><\/a>\u00a0in January.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Saints have reportedly been searching for a long-term\u00a0<\/span><\/a>Oriol Romeu<\/span><\/a>\u00a0replacement<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and have been impressed by the Venezuelan’s 2020\/21 campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

West Ham are also an interested party. There remains constant gossip surrounding\u00a0<\/span>Declan Rice<\/span><\/a>‘s future at the club,\u00a0<\/span>with a whole host of clubs keen on the English midfielder.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

It remains unseen whether the Hammers’ interest lies solely on whether Rice departs in summer, but Herrera’s tough-tackling nature combined with his undoubted technical ability, could make him a perfect fit for David Moyes.<\/span><\/p>\n

If the Citizens are to sell Herrera this summer, he will generate a sizeable profit that would represent an excellent bit of business by the club. If they are to keep him, he has an excellent opportunity to develop at one of Europe’s elite and under one of the best managers in recent European history.<\/span><\/p>\n
