Manchester United<\/a> have been boosted in their Ben White<\/a> transfer pursuit, with the 23-year-old open to the idea of joining The Red Devils.\u00a0According to Dominic Booth of Manchester Evening News<\/a>, Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> would be reluctant to sell one of their most prized assets, but could struggle to fend off the persistent interest.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Handed A Boost in Ben White Transfer Pursuit<\/h2>\n

Central Defender Remains on United’s Priority List<\/h3>\n

United have reportedly been tracking the 23-year-old for a while, joining a whole host of Premier League clubs keen. His performances at Leeds United<\/a> in the Championship last season, raised awareness of White’s ability, whilst this campaign has proved his competence against opposition of the highest quality.<\/p>\n

Victor Lindelof<\/a> and Harry Maguire<\/a> have both demonstrated that they are capable of stepping up when need be this season, but have drawn criticism from their performances together. Subsequently, United have been linked with a number of Europe’s brightest centre-backs.<\/p>\n

Villareal’s Pau Torres<\/a> and Real Madrid’s Raphael Varane<\/a> have been two of the more popular options amongst United’s fan base,<\/a> with Dayot Upamecano<\/a> also sparking excitement before his move to Bayern Munich was confirmed in February.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ben White Transfer Would Not Come Cheap<\/h3>\n

Finances continue to complicate the world of football during this pandemic and it remains unclear whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a>‘s side will be impacted by that.<\/p>\n

Manchester Evening News expect Brighton to demand a fee in the excess of \u00a335 million.<\/a> However, recent central defensive purchases have proved invaluable to a number of Premier League teams and their individual pursuits.<\/p>\n

White has made 31 appearances for Graham Potter’s side this year, and constantly shows a mature side to his game that is not typically associated with 23-year-olds. Brighton’s front-foot attacking football philosophy has enabled White to progress into the technically gifted player he is today – an attribute that would bode well for Solskjaer’s side.<\/p>\n
