The Sheffield United<\/a> manager shortlist is set to be finalised in the near future, according to the Sheffield Star<\/a>, after long-time boss Chris Wilder<\/a>\u00a0left his role earlier this month.<\/p>\n

Sheffield United Manager Shortlist Almost Complete<\/h2>\n

Who Is on the Shortlist?<\/h3>\n

One name reportedly on the list, Slavisa Jokanovic<\/a>, is certainly experienced in Championship management, with the second tier of English football looking increasingly likely to be the competition in which Sheffield United compete next season.<\/p>\n

He led Watford<\/a> to automatic promotion from the Championship<\/a> in the 2014\/15 season, before being replaced by former Atletico Madrid<\/a> manager Quique Sanchez Flores<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Jokanovic also spent almost three years with Fulham<\/a>, eventually achieving promotion during his third season at Craven Cottage. The Serb was sacked after just 12 Premier League<\/a> games the following campaign.<\/p>\n

Javier Pereira, who was assistant manager to Jokanovic at both Watford and Fulham, is also thought to be under consideration for the job in South Yorkshire. Currently managing in the Chinese Super League, Pereira also has experience as a director of football, having held such a position at Craven Cottage between January and September of last year.<\/p>\n

Other reported options include former Bournemouth<\/a> manager Jason Tindall<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sheffield United Desperately Struggling This Season<\/h3>\n

During the 2019\/20 season, the Blades\u00a0defied all odds and expectations. They were in contention for a place in Europe up until their form dropped off during the campaign’s final ten games, finishing in ninth place, just two points behind giants Arsenal<\/a>, and a comfortable 20 points away from relegation.<\/p>\n

This season, however, things haven’t looked so good for United.<\/p>\n

Despite achieving four wins in nine fixtures in all competitions between the end of January and the start of March, the Yorkshire outfit are still fourteen points adrift at the bottom of the table. It looks increasingly likely that they will once again be playing in the Championship<\/a> next season, after they had to wait until mid-January for their first win of the season.<\/p>\n
