According to Italian reporter Pietro Balzano Prota<\/a>, AC Milan<\/a> are planning a transfer spree this summer should they realise their dreams of Champions League qualification. Reports say the Rossoneri\u00a0<\/em>are targeting a striker, winger, and defender. These are positions of need, so these AC Milan transfers will have to be right.<\/p>\n

AC Milan Transfers in the Summer<\/h2>\n

Striker and Winger<\/h3>\n

Pietro Balzano Prota tweeted that one of Milan’s main targets is Fiorentina man Du\u0161an Vlahovi\u0107<\/a>. The Serbian striker has appeared in 27 domestic matches, scoring 12 goals and assisting two. This comes in a side struggling to get anything going moving forward. He’s only 21-years-old, fitting perfectly in Milan’s timeline of young players. Having Vlahovi\u0107 and Rafael Le\u00e3o<\/a> as striker options is nice for the future, but Milan will need a veteran presence as well. All eyes will be on Zlatan Ibrahimovi\u0107<\/a> to see if he extends his contract.<\/p>\n

The right-wing is the other position being looked at. Current options include Alexis Saelemaekers<\/a> and Samu Castillejo<\/a>. Saelemakers is a solid option as he’s consistent, but with that being said he’s consistent at being slightly above-average. Castillejo’s time in Milan is running out. Simply put, his outings tend to produce nothing.<\/p>\n

Lille’s Jonathan Ikone<\/a> is potentially an option<\/a>. He’s a speedster who will excel with any hold-up striker on his side. Ikone will also fit in excellently with a playmaker such as Hakan Calhanoglu<\/a>.<\/p>\n

AC Milan Already Have Their Defender of the Future<\/h3>\n

Prota mentioned that the transfer for the defence is Fikayo Tomori<\/a>. This comes as no surprise. He’s been excelling in filling in for captain Alessio Romagnoli<\/a>. Tomori is built for Serie A – he’s both physical and extremely intelligent. His position is sublime, but he can also out-duel nearly any striker as well as use his athleticism to hold wingers at bay.<\/p>\n

The option to buy for Milan sits at \u20ac28 million. There is absolutely no reason why the Rossoneri\u00a0<\/em>say no to this. That price is a steal, especially for one like Tomori who regularly outplays the rest of the defence.<\/p>\n

Tomori is also just 23-years-old. He fits in Milan’s timeline and is ahead of schedule in terms of development compared to many other centre-backs. It may seem crazy, but Tomori looks to be better than Romagnoli. With Simon Kjaer<\/a> continuing to play well, perhaps Milan’s captain has lost his place in the starting 11. Sure, that sounds dreadful, but Tomori is that good already.<\/p>\n
