On Tuesday night, Watford<\/a>\u00a0brushed by Rotherham United<\/a> with a 4-1 win, putting the Hornets in a commanding position for automatic promotion. Now five points clear of Brentford<\/a> and three points clear of Swansea City<\/a> (who both have one match in hand), Watford know they control their own destiny. One of the key pieces to their success has been record-signing Ismaila Sarr<\/a>. He came off with an injury in the match – although any time on the sidelines does not appear to be too long.<\/p>\n

As he has done so many times for Watford this season, Sarr dismantled the right side of the opposition’s defence with his blistering pace and silky dribbling.<\/p>\n

In the 26th minute, Nathaniel Chalobah<\/a>‘s flick from a Philip Zinckernagel<\/a> cross was smartly stopped by goalkeeper, Jamal Blackman. However, even though Blackman found his footing, Sarr expertly found the back of the net by arrowing the rebound into the top corner.<\/p>\n

His goal tally for this season is up to nine. He also has four assists and has won five penalties.<\/p>\n

Likely Minor Injury to Promptly Be Evaluated<\/h3>\n

In the 53rd minute, Sarr was on the ground in some discomfort. The right-winger was subsequently substituted off, but he was able to move using his power.<\/p>\n

However, Xisco Munoz did not seem too concerned. Speaking to reporters at the Watford Observer<\/a> after the game, the manager said: “We’ll see tomorrow – I don’t know exactly. Sarr is sometimes like a Superman and sometimes he’s maybe a little tired. If he’ll be ready for the next game, we’ll see.”<\/p>\n

Before the victory against Rotherham, Sarr had played every minute of the Hornets’ previous 18 league matches. Considering the tremendous fixture congestion and not having an international break, fatigue is inevitable.<\/p>\n

With the international break coming up, Sarr will likely be called up for Senegalese senior duty. But, if he is not at 100 per cent, then the Championship’s two-week hiatus will be used for rest and recovery.<\/p>\n

The injury does not appear long-term. As of now, Sarr is still in contention to start for Saturday’s clash against Birmingham City<\/a>.<\/p>\n
