Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/a> has said that Manchester United<\/a> can convince Edinson Cavani<\/a> to stay at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season.<\/p>\n

The Norwegian’s\u00a0comments come after the player\u2019s father told the media<\/a> that his son is uncomfortable living in England and would prefer a move back to his native South America, with Boca Juniors touted as a potential destination for the striker.<\/p>\n

Ahead of his side\u2019s Europa League first-leg tie with AC Milan<\/a>, Solskjaer said during his press conference<\/a>: \u201cEdinson is fully focused on being available to us and is working really hard to get fit. From my bad Portuguese and his better English, he\u2019s very proud to play for Manchester United and is always going to give his best.<\/p>\n

“If that\u2019s beyond this season as well, a decision hasn\u2019t been made. As we\u2019ve said, he\u2019s made a great contribution so far; we\u2019re just working on getting him fit and back on the pitch \u2013 and we\u2019ll convince him [to stay] when the weather in Manchester improves!\u201d<\/p>\n

When pressed further on how the club can make the Uruguayan feel happier in his surroundings, Solskjaer added: \u201cI cannot comment on what has been said. I can only say that we\u2019re very pleased with Edinson when he\u2019s here; he\u2019s working really hard to be available every day.<\/p>\n

“Day in, day out, he\u2019s proving his personality, his professionalism; even in his broken English, he\u2019s really helping the young kids, as we wanted him to. We know he wasn\u2019t going to be able to play every single game because he\u2019d been out of football for so long. Now, let\u2019s just make sure he plays as much football as possible until the end of the season, scores as many goals as he can, helps the young players and strikers with his mentality.<\/p>\n

“He will make his decision, and he knows we are very fond of what he has given to the club, even though he has played less than he wanted to.”<\/p>\n

Solskjaer Confirms Marcus Rashford is Likely to Miss AC Milan Fixture<\/h3>\n

Manchester United take on Serie A giants AC Milan in the Europa League on Thursday. The Red Devils will likely be without Marcus Rashford<\/a>, as the 23-year-old injured his ankle during last weekend’s derby victory over Manchester City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Solskjaer confirmed: “I don’t think he’ll be available for tomorrow. He’s still getting treatment, but he didn’t join in the training today. Even though I’m normally a very optimistic guy I still think he’s out of tomorrow night and probably a doubt for the weekend.<\/p>\n

“But that 60 or 70-yard sprinted recovery run just shows the hunger, the appetite and the spirit that we’ve got and the humility in our work at the moment. It was probably worth it then but you’re never happy when you lose players for games.”<\/p>\n
