The 24-year-old is admired by a whole host of other Premier League clubs and with\u00a0<\/span>Real Madrid<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and<\/span>\u00a0Bayern Munich<\/span><\/a>\u00a0also in pursuit, striking a deal for the central defender will be a tough task for both Manchester clubs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Manchester United More Likely to Make Pau Torres Move<\/h3>\n

Despite being a wanted man within Europe,\u00a0<\/span>United<\/span><\/a>\u00a0seem set to try their luck for the Villarreal star.\u00a0<\/span>Ole Gunnar Solskjaer<\/span><\/a> has admitted that a new central defender remains top of his priority list, with Torres ticking a lot of boxes.<\/span><\/p>\n

A natural left-footer makes the 24-year-old the perfect player to partner\u00a0<\/span>Harry Maguire<\/span><\/a>\u00a0as the club try to strike a balance in their defensive third.<\/span><\/p>\n

Playing every single minute of\u00a0<\/span>Villarreal’s<\/span><\/a>\u00a0La Liga season thus far, he has proved his quality both defensively speaking and from a technical perspective. He is a calming influence in the backline and has the passing range typically associated with a modern-day centre-back.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the revitalisation of\u00a0<\/span>John Stones<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and the addition of\u00a0<\/span>Ruben Dias<\/span><\/a>\u00a0has boosted the club immensely, and now the Frenchman is struggling for regular football.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stones and Dias have almost instantaneously formed a formidable defensive pairing, helping City into a sizeable lead at the Premier League summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

With three world-class central defenders, coupled with the fact that the club spent<\/span>\u00a0\u00a3103 million on defensive reinforcement<\/span><\/a>s in the summer, the addition of Torres seems like pure speculation rather than being a deal that the club are working towards.<\/span><\/p>\n
