In a recent announcement, Prime Minister Boris Johnson outlined a roadmap for the easing of COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, which included a date for the return of fans to the Premier League.<\/span><\/p>\n

The announcement stated that, from May 17, larger football stadiums will be allowed up to 10,000 fans or a quarter full<\/a>, meaning that in a season many fans would like to forget, come the concluding weekend, they will be in attendance to witness the final day drama.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The final day of the Premier League season<\/a> is always dramatic, as several narratives conclude. And this season will be no different. For once, as it stands, we’ll see some normality in the sport we all love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As all great Premier League seasons tend to do, too, many sides are setting up for a final day to remember. The relegation battle concludes on the last day with two candidates squaring off in Fulham and Newcastle.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The heavily congested top-four battle concludes with Liverpool<\/a>, backed by Anfield at its best, up against Crystal Palace<\/a>. Meanwhile, Chelsea<\/a> travel to Aston Villa,<\/a> Everton<\/a> travel to Manchester City<\/a>, and Leicester City<\/a> host Tottenham Hotspur.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

It is looking likely to be a final day to remember and a day made all the more special with the return of the fans.<\/span><\/p>\n

FA Cup Could Be Used as Test Event<\/span><\/h3>\n

Despite being played on May 15, two days before the date set for the return of fans, the FA Cup final could reportedly<\/a> be used as a test event before the final weekend of Premier League action.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This would provide the government with an insight as to whether fans can, indeed, make a safe return.<\/span><\/p>\n
