Barrow have parted company<\/a> with manager Michael Jolley after a run of four straight defeats in League Two.<\/a><\/p>\n

Barrow Have Parted Ways With Michael Jolley<\/h2>\n

Barrow Defeated by Morecambe Last Time Out<\/h3>\n

The announcement follows a 2-1 defeat at home to Morecambe on February 20, which leaves them 23rd in the table and one point adrift of safety \u2013 albeit with two games in hand over Southend United.<\/a><\/p>\n

Chairman Paul Hornby told barrowafc.com<\/a>: \u201cIt has become apparent even in such a short space of time that unfortunately the Board and Michael have differing visions for how the team should play, which has led to this change being made.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that it\u2019s best to recognise this now and make the change early so that the team can concentrate on the remaining games of the season. We\u2019d like to thank Michael for all of his hard work and wish him well in his future career.<\/p>\n

\u201cRob Kelly has been appointed as Caretaker Manager with immediate effect and will lead the team until the end of the season. Rob has had a successful, albeit brief, spell in charge of the team earlier in the season and is aligned to our philosophies and culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis has not been an easy decision to make. However, the Board feel that it\u2019s the right decision and one that gives us the best-possible chance of remaining in League Two, which is the ultimate aim of everybody associated with Barrow AFC.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jolley Leaves After Two Months<\/h3>\n

Jolley\u2019s dismissal marks the end of just under two months in the job, after being appointed as recently as December 23.<\/a><\/p>\n

He took over the reins following the departure of David Dunn on December 13<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kelly will now step up again from his position as assistant manager and takes his first match in caretaker charge away at Oldham Athletic on February 23.<\/p>\n

The Bluebirds will be targeting a first win since January 16 when they beat Scunthorpe United 1-0 at Holker Street.<\/a><\/p>\n
