Carly Telford<\/a> has agreed a new contract extension with Chelsea<\/a> that extends her deal with the reigning Women\u2019s Super League champions until June 2022.<\/p>\n

Carly Telford in Her Second Spell at Chelsea<\/h3>\n

Telford has made 75 appearances for the Blues and is set to branch out into coaching as of next season, taking a part-time role to assist in the development of the club\u2019s U16 and U18 teams.<\/p>\n

The shot-stopper is in her second spell at the club, after re-joining in May 2017 following her initial period at the club between 2011 and 2013.<\/p>\n

She told chelseafc.com<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019m extremely happy. I think it\u2019s important at my age to know that I\u2019ve still got something to give to a club like Chelsea but also for the club to feel like they still value me.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis club has been amazing for me personally and to be around such a quality team and group of girls is amazing.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an honour to come to work every day and long may it continue for the next year or so.\u201d<\/p>\n

Great Experience in the Women\u2019s Game<\/strong><\/h3>\n

General manager Paul Green<\/a> added<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to have Carly not only sign a new contract but also begin her professional coaching journey here at Chelsea from next season.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe still has a lot to give on the pitch as a player, but alongside that, Emma [Hayes] and our staff are really looking forward to helping her coaching develop.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarly has great experience in the women\u2019s game and will now be able to share those experiences as she looks to develop our young goalkeepers at the club.\u201d<\/p>\n

Won a Range of Honours<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The 33-year-old has won a range of honours during her time in west London, after winning the Women\u2019s Super League twice, along with the FA Women\u2019s Cup and the Continental League Cup.<\/p>\n

She has won 23 England caps and been a part of three World Cup squads for the Lionesses.<\/p>\n
