Manchester United<\/a> striker Anthony Martial<\/a> was subjected to further racist online abuse after his side drew to West Bromwich Albion<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Despite social media tech giant Instagram<\/a> announcing tougher sanctions on racist messages last week, the France striker was once again targeted by online racist trolls.<\/p>\n

Anthony Martial Continues to Recieve Racist Abuse<\/h2>\n

United Star Subjected to More Racist Abuse<\/h3>\n

The French international was replaced after 66 minutes by Mason Greenwood<\/a> as United dropped more points in their quest to catch up to runaway leaders\u00a0Manchester City<\/a>.<\/p>\n

West Brom took a shock lead in the opening minutes through Mbaye Diagne<\/a> but Bruno Fernandes<\/a> continued his prolific form to equalise before half time.<\/p>\n

With the rise of such vile abuse, the Premier League, alongside the Football Association<\/a>, English Football League, Women\u2019s Super League, Women\u2019s Championship, PFA, LMA, PGMOL and Kick It Out co-signed a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg outlining their need to use the power of their systems to end this vile abuse.<\/p>\n

The Red Devils also joined Manchester City, Liverpool<\/a> and Everton<\/a>\u00a0in issuing a joint statement condemning the racist abuse. Martial, alongside teammate Axel Tuanzebe<\/a>, were both subjected to this vile ordeal in Manchester United\u2019s defeat<\/a> to Sheffield United on January 27.<\/span><\/p>\n

Racist Abuse Online Rises<\/h3>\n

In recent weeks, the rise of racist abuse has gone into overload with a host of footballers in both the men\u2019s and women\u2019s game targeted. Whilst Marcus Rashford<\/a> was targeted in his side\u2019s draw against Arsenal<\/a>, other Premier League players such as Chelsea<\/a> pair, Reece James<\/a> and Antonio Rudiger<\/a> were also sent racist abuse. James\u2019 sister and Manchester United Women\u2019s<\/a> star Lauren James<\/a> was also sent sick messages.<\/p>\n

It continued as West Brom midfielder Romaine Sawyers<\/a> was at the receiving end of abuse along with Swansea City<\/a> midfielder Yan Dhanda<\/a> who was targeted after the midweek defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup.<\/p>\n

Martial has struggled for form this season, having just scored four goals in the league, but that is irrelevant as he is the latest player to be subject to this racist abuse, as calls for tougher sanctions continue.<\/p>\n
