He is a goal threat, and we need more of that and hopefully we can get him going really quickly as we know he is a very good player.

“He had a knee injury a while ago but that is fully behind him now. He wasn’t attached to a club, but he’s getting in love with football again and we want to help him get back to his best.”

Rowe himself added: “I’m delighted to be signing for Burton Albion and I’m really excited to get going.

“I’ve been out since the summer, so it’s great to be in regular training again and to be around the lads.

“I’m feeling good, fitness-wise. Training here is intense and I feel it is really benefiting me.”

Helping New Team to Important Win

After a slow start to the season under Jake Buxton, Burton found themselves with a lot of ground to make up under the returning Hasselbaink.

Now, though, the gap between themselves and survival has been cut massively following a 2-0 win away at fellow strugglers Northampton.

The Brewers are just three points behind 19th-placed AFC Wimbledon and four behind Rochdale with two games in hand on Swindon Town and one on some of the other teams in the relegation mix.

Rowe came on to make his debut in the important win at Sixfields in which goals from Michael Bostwick and Ryan Edwards secured the all-important points.

Burton face another tough test in their next game when Sunderland visit the Pirelli Stadium, but with three wins in their last four games, they will be full of confidence.

Main Photo

Embed from Getty Images

Burton Albion have completed the signing of former Ipswich Town winger Danny Rowe on a free transfer until the end of the season.
