Despite Harry Kane<\/a>‘s return last week, Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> could still be quite depleted on the injury front for their trip<\/a> to Manchester City<\/a> on Saturday evening, according to Football.London.<\/a> It seems that Gareth Bale<\/a> is closer to making a return from the aforementioned trio, but Jose Mourinho remains unsure of the extent of the injury.<\/p>\n

Gareth Bale to Be Assessed Before Manchester City Clash<\/h3>\n

Gareth Bale was not included in Tottenham’s<\/a> squad in their 5-4 loss <\/a>to Everton<\/a> midweek, with Mourinho explaining that the Welshman wanted to have a scan on Monday on an area that did not feel too comfortable. “On Monday, I was a little bit surprised by him wanting to have a scan because he was not comfortable with some muscular area,” Mourinho said.<\/p>\n

“So he didn’t train on Monday and then on Tuesday he trained with the team but I was informed that his desire would be to work with the sports science for a couple of days to strengthen that area where he’s not feeling comfortable.<\/p>\n

“That’s the reason why he is not here. I don’t think it is an obvious clear injury.”<\/p>\n

Sergio Reguilon and Giovani Lo Celso No Nearer to Tottenham Return<\/h3>\n

Left-Back Sergio Reguilon had been performing excellently on his debut season with the North London club, but the 24-year-old has recently been sidelined with a muscular injury.<\/p>\n

It seems that Reguilon is nearing full fitness, but the Manchester City<\/a> fixture on Saturday evening is a bit too early.<\/p>\n

Giovani Lo Celso is also expected to miss the trip to the Etihad, with no exact return date set for the Argentine. The midfielder has not yet featured in 2021 and Mourinho seems to think that it will at least be ‘a couple of weeks’ before he will be ready and back in contention.<\/p>\n
