Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> have confirmed that their Europa League tie with Wolfsberger AC will now take place in Budapest.<\/p>\n

Three ties in the Champions League and Europa League are now scheduled to be played in the city due to the ongoing Coronavirus restrictions across Europe.<\/p>\n

What Other Games Have Been Moved to the City?<\/h3>\n

Tottenham will be joined by Liverpool<\/a> and Manchester City<\/a> in playing at the Puskas Arena over the course of the next two weeks.<\/p>\n

Liverpool are due to face RB Leipzig on February 16 in the first leg of their round of 16 fixture. City, meanwhile, will travel to Budapest to face Borussia Mnochengladbach the following.<\/p>\n

As a result, it means that three English sides will make the trip to the country in a short space of time, as Tottenham will play their Austrian opponents two days after Liverpool.<\/p>\n

A short statement on the Tottenham website<\/a> said: “The first leg of our UEFA Europa League round of 32 tie against Austrian side Wolfsberger AC will now take place in Budapest, Hungary, next week.<\/p>\n

“The new Pusk\u00e1s Ar\u00e9na, home of the Hungary national team, will host the match as COVID-19 regulations in Austria mean we can no longer play at the Worthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt.<\/p>\n

“Kick-off remains at 5.55pm UK (6.55pm local).”<\/p>\n

The three games to be moved are one of several of Europe’s top two competitions to be moved. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United<\/a> will face Real Sociedad in Turin, while both of Arsenal’s<\/a> games against Benfica have been moved to neutral venues.<\/p>\n

It shows the continued complications that the Coronavirus pandemic is causing the football world. These are likely to continue causing disruption right up until the final, which is due to take place at the Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul on Saturday 29 May.<\/p>\n
