Chelsea<\/a> returned to winning ways in the Women\u2019s Super League with a convincing 3-0 victory over Arsenal<\/a> in a London derby at Kingsmeadow.<\/p>\n

It was one of only two Women\u2019s Super League fixtures to take place on the night, with Tottenham Hotspur<\/a> v Bristol City and Birmingham City v Aston Villa<\/a> both postponed earlier in the day due to frozen pitches.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Super League Round-Up: Chelsea Beat the Gunners<\/h2>\n

Chelsea Cruise Past Arsenal<\/h3>\n

Pernille Harder<\/a>\u2019s brace and Fran Kirby<\/a>\u2019s goal ensured the Blues made a perfect response from a shock 2-1 defeat<\/a> to Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a>, extending their lead at the top of the Women\u2019s Super League to three points.<\/p>\n

Harder opened the scoring three minutes into the second half with a 20-yard strike that flew into the bottom corner.<\/p>\n

The Denmark international doubled her’s and Chelsea\u2019s tally ten minutes later when she fired home from Kirby\u2019s cut-back into the box.<\/p>\n

Kirby then added her name onto the scoresheet in the 90th minute with a close-range finish after racing through one-on-one with Lydia Williams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The result leaves Arsenal\u2019s slim title hopes in tatters \u2013 they remain fourth with 23 points from 13 games, 12 adrift of Chelsea with a game in hand.<\/p>\n

Brighton Secure Back-to-back Wins<\/h3>\n

Brighton secured back-to-back wins in the Women\u2019s Super League for the first time with a hard-fought 1-0 win over West Ham United<\/a> at The People\u2019s Pension Stadium.<\/p>\n

It was the first home win for Hope Powell\u2019s side since a 2-0 opening day victory over Birmingham City<\/a> and sent the Seagulls up into seventh place with 15 points from 15 games.<\/p>\n

Aileen Whelan<\/a> scored for a second consecutive game in the 31st minute \u2013 again from a Megan Connolly<\/a> corner \u2013 to give Albion the narrow victory.<\/p>\n

The result extends the Hammers\u2019 winless run to four games and leaves them 11th with eight points from 13 games \u2013 just two more than Bristol City at the bottom of the table.<\/p>\n
