Brighton & Hove Albion<\/a> claimed a stunning 2-1 win away at Chelsea<\/a> in the pick of the Women\u2019s Super League results this weekend, as the Blues’ record-breaking unbeaten run in the league ended at 33 games.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s Super League Round-Up<\/h2>\n

Chelsea’s Record Women’s Super League Unbeaten Run Ends<\/h3>\n

Sam Kerr<\/a> broke the deadlock for the reigning Women\u2019s Super League champions in the fifth minute, but Aileen Whelan<\/a> levelled the scores just three minutes later.<\/p>\n

Megan Connolly<\/a> then scored straight from a corner late on to secure an incredible victory and inflict a first league defeat on Chelsea since January 27 2019 \u2013\u00a0 3-2 against Birmingham City 742 days previously.<\/p>\n

The Blues remain top of the table despite the result with 32 points from 13 games and remain above second-place Manchester United<\/a> on goal difference.<\/p>\n

Reading Stun Manchester United in the Women’s Super League<\/h3>\n

Reading pulled off the first big shock of the day with a 2-0 win away at Manchester United.<\/p>\n

Two goals in the space of three second-half minutes from Natasha Harding<\/a> and Danielle Carter<\/a> secured a memorable win over United, who saw Leah Galton<\/a> and Ona Batlle<\/a> denied by Grace Mahoney in the Royals\u2019 goal, while Ella Toone<\/a>\u2019s shot hit the post.<\/p>\n

The result means Casey\u2019s Stoney\u2019s side remain second and two points above Manchester City<\/a> in third having played a game more.<\/p>\n

Manchester City Overcome Arsenal<\/a><\/h3>\n

Manchester City boosted their title aspirations with a 2-1 win against Arsenal at Meadow Park \u2013 a result which takes them to within two points of league leaders Chelsea.<\/p>\n

Ellen White<\/a>\u2019s fantastic strike put City ahead in the 24th minute \u2013 her 55th Women\u2019s Super League strike to move her to the top of the all-time top scorer list in the division.<\/p>\n

But the Gunners equalised in the 55th minute courtesy of Caitlin\u2019s Foord\u2019s cool left-footed strike from inside the box.<\/p>\n

It was City that scored the second and ultimately decisive goal with 79 minutes played after Chloe Kelly<\/a> brilliantly teed up Lauren Hemp<\/a> to guide home her header.<\/p>\n

Bristol City and West Ham United<\/a> Draw in Bottom-of-the-Table Clash<\/h3>\n

Bristol City were denied a third straight win in all competitions after drawing 1-1 with West Ham United at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.<\/p>\n

Emily van Egmond<\/a>\u2019s own goal gave City the lead in the seventh minute after Hammers keeper Mackenzie Arnold<\/a> misjudged an incoming corner and her teammate diverted the ball into the net.<\/p>\n

Katerina Svitkova<\/a> equalised four minutes into the second half with a close-range strike to ensure the points were shared.<\/p>\n

City remain bottom of the table with six points from 13 games, while West Ham are 11th\u00a0with eight points from 12 games.<\/p>\n

Everton<\/a> Share the Spoils With Birmingham City<\/h3>\n

It was honours even at Walton Hall Park as Everton and Birmingham City took a point each in a 1-1 draw.<\/p>\n

Danielle Turney broke the deadlock in the Toffees\u2019 favour with a fine free-kick in the 24th minute, but her strike was cancelled out 12 minutes later thanks to Jamie-Lee Napier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Claudia Walker<\/a> saw her initial penalty saved by Tinka-Rijkka Korpela before Napier followed up on the rebound.<\/p>\n

Aston Villa<\/a> Edge Out Tottenham Hotspur<\/a><\/h3>\n

Mana Iwabuchi<\/a>\u2019s superb long-range strike earned Aston Villa their first home Women\u2019s Super League victory of the season.<\/p>\n

Cho So-hyun<\/a> had a golden opportunity to level the score deep into stoppage time, but her left-footed effort went over the bar.<\/p>\n

Villa sit ninth in the table with 10 points from 12 games, while Tottenham are seventh with 12 points from 12 games.<\/p>\n
